This is an 8 team women’s water polo tournament for European national teams. The championships consists of a preliminary round, quarter finals, semi finals and final. Each team plays one match each day. The winner will be declared on 12th July, the final day of competition.

The Manchester Aquatics Centre is a world class swimming venue which was purpose built for the XVll Commonwealth Games, held in Manchester in 2002.

Manchester, and the Greater Manchester area, is home to a wide range of regional, national and international sporting events. The Paralympic World Cup has been held annually in Manchester since 2005. The Paralympic World Cup 2009 will be held in Manchester in May. The World Cup is actually a series of events and it will see World Class Athletes compete in their chosen disciplines in this exciting and memorable multi-sport disability event.

The BT Paralympic World Cup 2009 is run in conjunction with the International Paralympic Committee and ParalympicsGB. The competitions sees paralympic sporting elite competing in the disciplines of athletics, swimming, track cycling and wheelchair basketball.
