If the answer is Yes then Mancunian and Beatle fan Paul Wilde would like to hear from you. Manchester played an important part in the early success of the Fab Four. However, Manchester’s role is not always recognised. Thats why Paul has asked for people to come forward and tell him more about the Beatles in Manchester.

Paul runs the Beatles In Manchester web site which documents the Beatles visits to, and performances in, Manchester. Paul is looking for anecdotes, photographs, printed material and reminiscences relating to the Beatles in Manchester. Manchester gave John, George, Paul and Ringo a number of ‘firsts’ before any other town!

Paul invites people to email their personal stories of any Beatles encounters. This could be something as simple as being in the audience at local venues, seeing them in a hotel or just about any encounter you remember. Paul plans to build up a historical document of the Beatles in Manchester for future generations.

Do you remember the Beatles at the ABC in Ardwick in 1963….? If you missed it, here is a great Pathe newsreel – The Beatles Come To Town – showing the Beatles arrival at the venue and excerpts from the classic concert.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=E_GRLfW9PI4

Please visit Paul’s site TheBeatlesInManchester.co.uk to learn more about the Beatles in Manchester and to see if you can help Paul with his worthwhile project.

If you are looking for something a little different then the people from Ghostly Endeavours might have just the thing for you.

Ghostly Endeavours host overnight events at some of the most haunted locations across the North West, and the UK. If you are interested in ghosts and the paranormal then Ghostly Endeavours offer something that will definitely be of interest.

Yes, thats correct – these events are held overnight – thats after dark, and they are in places specially selected because they are supposed to be haunted! How scary is THAT, as they say.

However, there is a serious side to this and many people use these events to conduct real scientific paranormal investigations, either in groups or on their own using investigation equipment, emf readers, heat detectors, dowsing rods and crystals.

You will be in the company of experienced mediums, psychics and historians but its also important to the organisers that you make up your own mind about the paranormal based on your own experiences.

Now, the thing is that a lot of people attend these events – and many sell out quickly. However, there are a number of events coming up in the next few months that, at the time of writing, still have places available. These include:-

Golden Fleece coaching inn, York, 26 September 09
Tatton Old Hall, 21 November 2009
Galleries of Justice, Nottingham (date to be confirmed)
Overnight Ghost Hunt… Hell Fire Club Manchester (date to be confirmed)

The organisers say……..

“We organize events at the most haunted locations in the UK, Ghostly Endeavours will take you as a ghost hunter to chilling places for an evening event, a ghostly supper or a spooky week end.”

I think what Ghostly Endeavours do is very interesting and I hope you do too. Book online or call 07805 119 601 or 0161 219 1815. Visit their website ghostlyendeavours.co.uk for lots more information, details of up and coming events and ticket prices.
