If you are in Manchester this weekend and want to attend one of the North West’s premier blues festivals then you are in luck.

The 21st Burnley National Blues Festival will take place from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th April, 2009.

The Burnley National Blues Festival started in 1988 and is now in its 21st year. The festival is Burnley’s world famous annual celebration of blues music. The festival brings together an exciting line up of premier blues entertainers over the course of the weekend.

The venue for the festival is Burnley Mechanics, Burnley’s famous arts and entertainments centre.

This years line up includes:-

    Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials
    Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers
    Magic Slim and the Teardrops
    Kenny Neal Band
    Earl Thomas & Paddy Milner
    Doug Macleod

The festival commences at 7:00pm on Friday evening. Performances on Saturday and Sunday start at 2:30pm and continue on through to late evening.

There are also Blues Cruises on both the Saturday and the Sunday. Sailings take place at 12pm – 1.30pm & 3pm each day.

In order to make the most of your time at the Festival we would suggest that you consider booking hotel accommodation for the weekend, to save you traveling back to Manchester at the end of each day.
