Golf Courses in the North West of England

The North West of England is home to some of the most famous and challenging golf courses in the country.

Although Greater Manchester is home to many great golf courses, golf fans are always looking for new challenges.

Several local tourist authorities in the North West have teamed up to promote 19 golf courses located in the North West’s coastal areas as “Englands Golf Coast”. A high quality website supports the campaign and outlines where each course is. The website included an online tee time booking system, details of special golf packages and details on how to book accommodation in the area.

The golf courses promoted by Englands Golf Coast are all reasonably easy to get to by car from Manchester. Some of the closest courses such as Royal Liverpool or Formby could be completed as a daytrip. However, some courses are a little further away and many golfers will probably prefer to book a hotel and stay overnight, have a golf holiday or even include a visit to a golf course as part of a longer trip.
