Manchester Restaurants
Manchester is is fortunate to have a fantastic variety of restaurants providing cuisine from all over the world. Manchester is home to communities from all over the world and this diversity is reflected in the cuisine available. There are restaurants in Manchester to suit every taste and every budget!
In any one street you can easily find restaurants serving food from a variety of locations such as India, China and Italy. Manchester also has restaurants serving food from all over the world including India, Asia, Middle East as well as restaurants serving French, Italian and Greek cuisine.
While the variety of restaurants in Manchester is better than in most British towns and cities there are many top quality restaurants in the area as well such as Nutters Restaurant Edenfield Road, Norden, Rochdale, OL12 7TT, owned by celebrity chef Andrew Nutter and Manchester Food and Drink Awards 2008 Vegetarian Restaurant of the Year Greens, 43 Lapwing Lane, West Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2NT.
Visitors to Manchester who want to seek out the best restaurants are advised to make friends with a local resident, quickly, as there are a great many hidden gems. If that’s not possible then here is a brief introduction to start with.
Central Manchester
This is where you will find the best, and often the most expensive restaurants. It is also home to some of Manchester’s most famous eateries. Sam’s Chop House, Back Pool Fold, Chapel Walks, off Cross St, Manchester M2, regularly gets good reviews. Sinclair’s Oyster Bar, Shambles Square, Manchester is located in a medieval timber framed building with a fascinating history.
China Town
No visit to Manchester would be complete without a visit to Manchester’s Chinatown to sample the Chinese restaurants serving a wide range of authentic Chinese meals. Manchester’s China Town is located in Central Manchester off Portland Street. It is fairly compact and there are too many great restaurants to single out just one or two. Why not explore the area a little and see what you can find. Visit, enjoy, repeat, is my advice.
Curry Mile
Manchester’s world famous ‘Curry Mile’ in Rusholme has an almost overwhelming variety of fantastic restaurants serving a wide selection of Indian cuisine. Located on Wilmslow Road, just south of Manchester town centre. There are restaurants serving indian cuisine on both sides of the road for the best part of a mile. Here you can find a fantastic selection of restaurants serving Indian cuisine to suit every budget and preference.
